Almost 10,000 people with disability, their family and supporters engaged with the Royal Commission. In their submissions and private sessions, they generously shared their experiences and recommendations. Many gave consent for their accounts to be published as short de-identified narratives. Publishing these narratives will help inform the community about the experiences of people with disability.
To protect the privacy of those involved, we do not use real names or locations.
For more information see the Narrative FAQs and search tips.
Content Warning: These stories are about violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation and may include references to suicide or self-harming behaviours. They may contain graphic descriptions and strong language and may be distressing. Some narratives may be about First Nations people who have passed away.
