Our Terms of Reference
The Royal Commission’s Terms of Reference tell us what we should look at and what we should not look at as part of our inquiry. They are set out in the Letters Patent, which is the name of the official document used to establish the Royal Commission, appoint Commissioners and set out rules for how the Royal Commission will operate.
The Disability Royal Commission was established by Letters Patent issued by the Commonwealth and every State Government in Australia. These were amended in September 2019 to allow for the appointment of a seventh Commissioner.
