Public hearing 19 on employment further postponed due to COVID-19 concerns
Due to the ongoing nature of the current COVID-19 restrictions, including the extended lockdown in Greater Sydney, the Disability Royal Commission has decided that Public hearing 19 will be further postponed until November 2021.
This decision has been taken in the interests of the health and safety of witnesses, Royal Commission staff and the general public. The Royal Commission deeply regrets the need to reschedule this hearing again.
The rescheduled public hearing will be the second part of the Royal Commission’s examination of open employment. It will provide an opportunity for a closer look at the measures taken by employers, regulators and other key actors in response to the systemic barriers to open employment facing people with disability. It follows the first hearing on employment in December 2020, Public hearing 9.
Please monitor our website for further information regarding the rescheduling of this public hearing.
