The Royal Commission has made 222 recommendations on how to improve laws, policies, structures and practices to ensure a more inclusive and just society that supports the independence of people with disability and their right to live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Over the course of the Royal Commission, almost 10,000 people shared their experience of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation by making a submission or participating in a private session.

The Disability Royal Commission held a series of public hearings around the country to gather evidence about violence, neglect, abuse and exploitation of people with disability.

The Royal Commission has published reports across public hearings, research and policy themes.

The Disability Royal Commission has now concluded. Discover how you can contact the Royal Commissions Branch and access support services.
